Obtaining Director Identification Number

It is important to note that every person who is to be appointed as a director must have “Director’s Identification Number (DIN)” [Section 152(3)]. If the proposed director does not already have a DIN, he/she must obtain the same before incorporation of the company. This can be obtained by making an application on the MCA portal in Form DIR - 3.

Scope of Work

Documents Required

1. Passport size photograph. 2. Attested copy of PAN -Mandatory. 3. Attested copy of an Address proof (not older than 2 months). (Attestation must be done by a Chartered Accountant or Company Secretary or Cost Accountant, in whole-time practice). 4. DIR 4 - Verification affidavit Foreign Nationals: All supporting documents including photograph should be certified by the Indian Embassy or a notary in the home country of the applicant or by the practicing chartered accountant or company secretary or cost accountant. If a foreign director has a valid multiple-entry Indian visa or Person of Indian Origin card or Overseas Citizen of India card, then the attestation could also be done by Public Notary / Gazette Officer in India or practising CA / CS / CWA.
